Hello drummers! We are so happy you found us. My name is Ezra, and I have been teaching music for over 25 years. My two children and I will be your new drum coaches.
When my daughter Aiwen was 4 years old she started banging away on the drums. At such a young age, she found traditional learning material boring and her progress was slow. Wanting to help her thrive, I tried different approaches to get her playing songs quickly while also developing proper technical drumming habits. Through relentless trial and error, I built a visual learning system that was fun, intuitive, and launched her drumming forward. Her progress was shocking!
At the young age of 8, Aiwen became a finalist in the Hit Like A Girl International Drumming Competition and went on to receive multiple drumming scholarships and sponsorships. In 2024 she won the top award for her age group in the iRock International Drumming Competition.
Inspired by his big sister, Aiwen's younger brother Micah took to the drums with ferocious intensity. At only 8 years old, Micah is the youngest student in North America to receive his grade 8 (the highest level) certificate from Trinity College London.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is for young learners and absolute beginners and the lessons are targeted toward children around 3 to 12 years old. Learning is for everyone, no matter the age and if you have always wanted to start drumming or have found it hard to engage in traditional drum lessons, this course will be the perfect fit. We are always happy to welcome teenagers and adult learners to the ABC DRUM Family - as long as you enjoy a bit of silliness along your learning journey.
